Just curious, are Geology classes in college really hard?

Unlike Physics and Chemistry, students learn Geology from scratch in most countries. However, Geology is also an interactive subject that discusses about the things around us. So, I wanted to know if people really consider it to be hard?

The beginning will be hard. The introduction & identification of minerals is difficult at first. Moreover, the specimens in lab & minerals in field don't look alike. So, the Geology is a little hard in college. But on a bright side, you don't need to remember a lot in Geology, as understanding a few concepts make things easy. However, you may need to memorize Geologic Time Scale, names of rocks & minerals, fossils etc. for competitive exams.

They are hard. There are too many subjects and some are confusing. Moreover, it's difficult to define the branches of Geology as most of them are hybrid.
