Blue Quartz is an opaque to translucent variety of Quartz, which exhibits blue color due to inclusions of fibrous magnesio-riebeckite or crocidolite. The formation of Blue Quartz depends upon the type of inclusion. The distribution of Quartz is widespread and this variety is not an exclusion.

The Blue Quartz is a precious variety of Quartz, used as gemstone. The tinted glass is used in fake jewelry like Blue Quartz, but it can be identified using the physical properties of Quartz.
