Why Geology is important in Civil Engineering?

The foundation is everything in Civil Engineering. Even more important than the foundation is the stability of the ground. Not just buildings, but huge constructions like dams, bridges, tunnels etc require the concepts of Geology to understand the stability of the rocks.

Because without this science, we generally wouldn't have built all the structures that are realistic to build using new technology. So yes, it is important. We mostly use concrete scanner in our work now , it gives very clear indicators and it is a pleasure to work on it
